Empathy Immersion In-Person in NYC

Midtown, NYC - Saturday, November 4
10AM - 5 PM

Why Practice Empathy?

Empathy is a profound human skill that we can develop in order to increase our experience of connection and understanding. The practice of empathy is a powerful way to navigate challenging conversations, whether that be with work colleagues, friends, loved ones, and especially with ourselves.

During the Empathy Immersion we will break down the elements of empathy and learn to assess and improve our practice on an ongoing basis as well as how to avoid pitfalls.

We will also enrich our practice by developing a deeper understanding and a deeper relationship to feelings and needs (our own and others).

Support

An essential part of empathy practice is having a sustainable empathic support system. In our experience we have found that even folks who have developed their empathy skills can still experience a challenge finding opportunities to continue their practice on a regular basis.

At this workshop you'll have the opportunity to establish and maintain a sustainable empathy network with other skilled members of the NYCNVC community.

Training Overview

During our time together, we will learn to increase our capacity for being present, learn to focus our awareness, and develop the ability to work with our own capabilities and humanity. We will also take advantage of the rich and unique metropolitan environment of Midtown Manhattan to dive into ‘empathic adventures’ immersed in real life scenarios.

Since feelings and needs are the focus of empathy, our relationship to them directly influences the quality and depth of our experience. Through specific practices and exercises we will broaden and enrich our understanding and connection to these "life energies", thereby deepening our practice of empathy.
