64 Days
Practice Group Curriculum
The 64 Days Training is a training for anyone who is ready to make a personal commitment to learn the principles and concepts of NVC and begin to incorporate them into daily life. You can find links to each week’s curriculum below.
What to Expect
The training consists of 9 weekly 2 1/2 hour sessions. It includes readings, exercises and role plays that are provided for practice groups and group leaders via the Internet. The curriculum is based on the work of Marshall Rosenberg and was created by Thom Bond with support from Marshall Rosenberg, Rita Herzog and Lucy Leu.
64 Days is designed in a "practice group" format. Groups cover the fundamental concepts and skills of NVC including "the model," "empathy," "needs consciousness," and more (see below).
In the training we will focus ways to use "connecting language" in the place of "judgment or habitual language" so we can move from disconnection and conflict to a place of connection and understanding.
We will also focus on discerning the components of anger and judgment and learn tools to transform them into constructive forces. By learning ways to connect with ourselves and our "enemies" and creating strategies to serve all parties, we can engender harmony in ourselves and the world. In this program participants will learn to:
Think and Communicate in terms of Needs, free of judgment
Consciously move to a more compassionate state
Be more aware of our Needs and the Needs of all people
Move from conflicts to constructive strategies
Make constructive requests that transcend disconnection
